Water Damage Restoration details →Moisture's Aftermath / San Diego County
Mold is a moisture symptom with a health dimension. We remove mold from homes across San Diego County and, unlike remediation-only outfits, we fix the water problem that grew it, because mold removed without moisture control is mold rescheduled.

When to take mold seriously
Mold spores are everywhere and always will be. What they need to become a colony is moisture, and in San Diego homes that moisture is usually a slow intrusion: a deck leak reaching a ceiling, a planter feeding a wall, condensation in an unvented space. Kill the colony without closing the water source and the spores simply restart, which is why so many homeowners are on their second or third remediation of the same wall.
Removal that scatters spores through the house is worse than no removal. Work areas get contained and put under negative air with HEPA filtration before disturbance begins. Affected porous materials are removed and bagged in place, salvageable surfaces are HEPA vacuumed and treated, and the containment comes down only after the area passes inspection.
Then we fix the moisture. The same crew that understands where the water came from repairs the membrane, flashing, drainage, or planter that fed the growth. That is the difference between a mold removal and a mold intermission, and it is why removal and waterproofing belong under one license.
Scope of Work
Pricing, Honestly
Mold removal in San Diego runs roughly $500 to $1,500 for a small contained area on non-porous surfaces, and $4,000 to $10,000 or more for a multi-room job with drywall removal, containment, and clearance testing. The moisture-source repair is quoted with it.
Mold scope follows the size of the affected area and how much material must come out, and the moisture repair is quoted alongside so nothing invisible stays on the to-do list. Small contained closets and single walls are modest projects. What makes mold expensive is time, so acting when you first notice it is the best cost control available.

Paying For The Work
Many homeowners fund waterproofing and foundation work through a home-equity line of credit (HELOC), a home-equity loan, or an FHA 203(k) loan, and we're glad to discuss payment options during your free estimate.
General information only. Aqua Choice is a waterproofing contractor, not a lender, and does not offer in-house financing. Rates, terms, and eligibility are set by your own bank or lender.
Systems We Install
Removal is only half the job; closing the moisture source is the other half. We match the waterproofing system to the entry point, not to a supplier, so the growth does not return.
How We Work
We trace where water is actually entering before anything is quoted. Sealing over a mystery is how the same failure happens twice.
Substrate repair, flashing, and slope come before any product goes down. It is the part of the job you never see, and it decides everything.
Materials matched to your surface and exposure, installed to spec, checked before we call it done.

Our Promise
Because we diagnose where water actually enters before we seal anything, we stand behind the source we fix. If a leak returns through an entry point we identified and waterproofed, we come back and make it right.

Straight Answers
Sensitivity varies by person and by species, and we do not diagnose health effects. What we can tell you is that no indoor mold colony is neutral, all of them indicate a moisture problem, and removal plus source repair is the answer in every case.
Surface cleaning can address minor growth on non-porous surfaces, but bleach on drywall kills the surface and leaves the roots, and it does nothing about the moisture. Growth that returns after cleaning is your wall telling you the source is still open.
Where testing is useful, we coordinate independent sampling so the party testing is not the party selling the removal. For visible growth, remediation standards are clear enough that testing often adds cost without changing the scope.
Contained single-area removals typically run a few days including the moisture repair. Larger or multi-room projects are scoped individually. We give you the schedule with the quote and keep the containment footprint as small as the work allows.
