Deck Waterproofing details →A roof deck is a roof you walk on, and it has to do both jobs perfectly. We waterproof rooftop decks and occupied-space decks across San Diego County with systems rated for the sun exposure, foot traffic, and drainage demands that combination creates.
Signs a roof deck needs attention
A conventional roof sheds water and is otherwise left alone. A roof deck takes furniture, foot traffic, and full sun while a bedroom or living room sits directly underneath. There is no attic to absorb a mistake. The system has to be a true roofing membrane and a durable walking surface at once, and the drainage details have to be right because the deck perimeter is usually a parapet, not an open edge.
Scuppers, drains, parapet caps, and door thresholds are where roof decks fail. The field membrane is rarely the weak point. Our work concentrates on those transitions: flashing carried up parapets and under thresholds, drains rebuilt and resealed, slope corrected so water actually reaches them. Then the walking surface goes down as an integrated traffic rated topcoat over the waterproofing, not as an afterthought.
Because failure lands on a ceiling below, we moisture test before and after, document the substrate condition, and photograph the flashing details before they are covered. You get a record of what your roof deck actually is under the finish.
Scope of Work
Pricing, Honestly
Roof deck projects are scoped by area, by what the moisture survey finds in the existing assembly, and by the detail count around the perimeter. Sound substrates take a new system directly. Wet assemblies need selective tear-off first, and finding that out before the quote rather than during the job is the whole point of our assessment process.
How We Work
We trace where water is actually entering before anything is quoted. Sealing over a mystery is how the same failure happens twice.
Substrate repair, flashing, and slope come before any product goes down. It is the part of the job you never see, and it decides everything.
Materials matched to your surface and exposure, installed to spec, checked before we call it done.

Only after testing says the existing system is dry and bonded. Coating over trapped moisture guarantees blisters and a callback, so we test first and tell you what the readings say. When overlay is safe it saves money, and when it is not we show you why.
Textured traffic coatings in a range of colors are the standard, and tile or pavers over a waterproofing membrane are options where the structure allows the weight. We walk you through what fits your deck and budget.
Thresholds are one of the most common leak points and one of the least fun to fix after the fact. We flash under and around the threshold as part of the membrane system, and where the sill sits too low we correct the detail so water cannot stand against it.
The membrane systems we install are rated for many years of rooftop exposure, with the walking topcoat maintained on a recoat cycle like any high wear finish. Keeping drains clear is the single best thing an owner can do between services.
